A New Beginning- The story of a church plant.

Yesterday, April 8, 2012 marked the beginning of a chapter that seems so full of potential. It is a chapter of lives coming together with one purpose, a chapter that all have stepped into with faith and have found themselves surprised by the goodness of God and an excitement to continue.
It is days like yesterday that I am mindful of the prophet Isaiah's words that the Lord's thoughts are not mine and His ways are so much higher.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.
-Is.55:8

I found myself speechless knowing that it was nothing from our own hands that made Blessed Hope Halifax a reality on 65 Main Street. It was nothing that any one person could have dreamed up. It was both the motivation from the Lord to do a work and His fantastic imaginative creativity that pulled it together.
Over and over again the leadership team has questioned how this all could come to be...most of us had not even met before, some had never even served before, others are so very new in the faith- yet we found ourselves in the same season with a common goal that could have only been put on our hearts by Him.  It was simply an idea or a faint vision just  6 months ago. A vision linked with an earnest desire to see the Lord rescue hearts and a united burden to represent our Savior in such a way that makes Him famous as He deserves...and prayerfully working together- there is a church- a body of believers- that opened doors to a "permanent" place of gathering this Easter Sunday.

An act of God will never grow old to watch when one is looking through His lens.

May we fix our eyes on Him and know that from His hand comes all things. May we surrender our hearts and hands to His work. May we never strive in our own might or toward our own plans that we may continue to rest in the peace of the knowledge that He is Sovereign over all and that He is author of all of our chapters.

 For everything comes from him
and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever!
- Romans 11:36

This blog is for the ladies of Blessed Hope Halifax... and whoever may wish to read.
To live, learn, and grow in community.
We will post the lessons from our studies together for review and reflection.
Follow along as we embark on a journey of faith in planting our new church and
in learning from the truths of God's Word how to represent Christ with our lives and to live
out our calling for His name sake to the very fullest.
